IRB Sevens World Series

This week the International Rugby Board together with the Commonwealth Games Federation announced the pool draw for the Rugby Sevens event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India on 11-12 October.

The announcement followed New Zealand and Australia naming their respective training squads which include All Blacks Adam Thomson and Zac Guildford, and Wallaby Lachie Turner.

"Excited about the inclusion of Hosea Gear, Thomson and Guildford. But my question is who will have to make room for them in the current squad. I don't see Tietjens leaving out Zar Lawrence and Stowers," said Hosea Ngesa on the IRB SWS Facebook page.

Women's Rugby World Cup

New Zealand also announced their Women's Rugby World Cup squad this week as they look to win their fourth consecutive title when the tournament begins in August.

Monalisa Codling is the only member of the squad to have played in all three of those triumphs dating back to Amsterdam in 1998, but five others will be seeking their own hat-trick of titles at the 2010 event in Guildford from 20 August to 5 September.

"They are without question the team to beat. If you beat them then you will win the tournament," said one member of the WRWC Facebook page, Paul Morgan.

Rugby World Cup

This week you can vote on the RWC Facebook page for your choice of four pool matches from RWC 1987.

A video from the RWC 2011 Volunteer programme was also uploaded to Facebook and the RWC YouTube channel, which you can also subscribe to.
