England, Wales and Ireland lie joint-top in the RBS Women's Six Nations title race with one match day remaining after all three secured wins at the weekend.
Although their Grand Slam hopes have already been dashed, England can still defend their title and currently top the table on points difference. They need to beat Scotland and await the result of all important match between Wales and Ireland on the same day.
England 52 France 7
On Sunday Gary Street's England side dominted France to win 52-7 at London Welsh RFC, Emily Scarratt grabbing a hat-trick of tries to take her personal tally to nine tries in just eight outings for England.
Amy Turner also scored, as did Charlotte Barras, Maggie Alphonsi and Katherine Merchant, all of whom recently returned from Dubai where they played in the first Rugby World Cup Sevens for women.
"This was a fantastic performance built on will, we have been working extremely hard since losing to Wales in February," said Street.
"France never gave up today but our determination and defence paid off. We were extremely organised and the forwards did a tremendous job in giving the rest of the team a great platform to work from.
"We are still very much in the mix for the title so next week is going to be a massive game against Scotland for us."
Scotland 0 - 23 Ireland
Ireland's Women remain on course for their best ever finish in the RBS Women's Six Nations after tries from Niamh Briggs, Tania Rosser and Lynne Cantwell inspired Steve Hennessy's side to a 23-0 win over Scotland on Friday night.
The three-try victory gave Ireland automatic qualification for next year's Women's Rugby World Cup and also put them briefly at the top of the table.
"They all played well and had to because it was hard work against a side who never stopped trying," said Hennessy.
"We have achieved what we wanted now this season but they can go all the way next week with a win against Wales."
Team captain Joy Neville, now with over 40 caps, also praised her team-mates. "It was an all-round effort and Scotland never made it easy for us," she said.
Italy 7 - 29 Wales
Wales Women completed their qualification for next year's Women's Rugby World Cup with a 29-7 Six Nations victory over Italy in Mira.
Jason Lewis’ side raced over for five tries and kept their own line intact until the dying seconds, when flanker Michela Este stole over for a converted try.
Captain Mellissa Berry led her troops magnificently, scoring a try in both halves to set the perfect example. There were further Welsh tries for Naomi Thomas and prop Catrin Edwards.
“We are pleased to post another win in the championship and book our ticket to the next World Cup," said Lewis. "Italy were very confrontational in the first half and we didn’t help ourselves in the contact area where the referee was particularly vigilant.
“Our focus is now on the game against Ireland next week. If we beat Ireland we will take the Triple Crown and second in the championship.”
