The next segment of our Daily Diary from the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup featuring some little snippets of news and a few interesting facts and figures about the tournament.
* The six teams who will play at the Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday – New Zealand, England, Canada, France, Scotland and the USA – have all had familiarisation sessions at the venue today as part of their preparations.
* The Rugby World Cup Board are in Edmonton to meet and also to see the climax of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, which sees defending champions New Zealand take on England in a repeat of the 2002 final.
* The twinning project between the majority of the Women’s RWC teams and local schools proved a great success, not least at the John D Bracco School where the Samoan players were a huge hit as they taught the students about their culture and rugby.
* The referees are taking advantage of a rare day off to take in the sights of Jasper today, while the England team visited Fort Edmonton yesterday and are doing a spot more shopping at the West Edmonton Mall today.
