The next segment of our Daily Diary from the IRB Women's Rugby World Cup featuring some little snippets of news and a few interesting facts and figures about the tournament.
* The Women’s RWC final is a repeat of the 2002 showpiece with New Zealand facing England, the former hoping for an unprecedented third straight title. France and Canada meet again in the third place playoff. Click here to see all the playoff matches on Saturday and Sunday.
* Simon McDowell of Ireland has been handed the honour of refereeing the Women’s RWC final between New Zealand and England at Commonwealth Stadium on Sunday. George Ayoub of Australia and France’s Christine Hanizet will act as touch judges.
Sarah Corrigan’s impressive display in the second semi final has seen the Australian awarded the referee’s whistle for the third place playoff between Canada and France. She will have New Zealand duo Nicky Inwood and Kristina Mellor as her touch judges.
* Today is Twinning Day at the Women’s RWC with each team having been allocated a local school that they are visiting to take part in lessons or just give a talk to the youngsters. Canada are actually split between three schools due to the level of interest.
* The tournament match officials are taking time out from their preparations from the Women’s RWC last two game days to enjoy a relaxing night of fun and games at the historic Fort Edmonton tonight.

* A solitary drop goal was kicked in the 2002 Women’s RWC – the same number we have now seen in this tournament after Paula Chalmers’ effort for Scotland against Ireland on Tuesday.
* France beat Canada 41-7 to finish third in the 2002 Women’s RWC in Barcelona.
* The leading try scorer in the Women’s RWC 2006 going into the last two days is Heather Moyse of Canada with seven, one more than England wing Sue Day.
